Our client is looking for a Technical Maintenance Specialist to maintain and repair the instrumentation within the laboratory to ensure compliance with QMS and 17025 standards.
Responsibilities:
- Optimise maintenance processes and equipment reliability, providing hands-on support for instrument maintenance and repairs.
- Engage in training and development to enhance technical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Participate in LEAN projects.
- Manage and maintain all service maintenance contracts for laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Lead contract renewal negotiations, focusing on cost-effectiveness and high-quality service.
- Work with operational and technical teams to ensure preventive maintenance is carried out.
- Serve as the main point of contact for service engineers on-site, ensuring that all required repairs and maintenance are completed.
- Oversee the arrival of engineers, ensuring clear communication with service companies for accurate dispatch of the correct personnel and parts.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities, contracts, and outcomes of LEAN projects to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation, providing updates on maintenance schedules, contract statuses, and project progress.
- Adhere to and promote Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a scientific or related field.
- Technical experience in an analytical testing laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with IEC/ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and other ISO standards, as well as Quality Management Systems.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving a variety of issues.
- Knowledge of quality KPIs and metrics, with the ability to implement changes for continuous improvement.
- Capability to meet deadlines effectively.
- Experience in auditing.
