Kent is seeking expressions of interest from Subsea and Pipeline Engineers to support upcoming opportunities within our Engineering & Consulting business in Aberdeen. As part of our highly experienced Subsea and Pipeline Engineering team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, value-adding engineering solutions across a range of exciting and technically challenging projects.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Integrity management, life extension, and decommissioning studies.
- Concept development and feasibility studies for challenging marginal, HPHT, and deep-water subsea developments in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Design and analysis of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines in the Low Carbon sector.
- Subsea cable analysis in the Offshore Wind sector.
- Using analytical or non-linear FE methods to solve diverse and complex subsea pipeline and subsea cable problems.
- Participation in innovation projects to continually streamline our toolkits for delivering our assessments.
- Building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to successful proposals and tenders.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization and will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree (honours or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Naval Architecture or similar engineering discipline.
- Chartered status (or working towards) is considered advantageous.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of subsea and pipeline engineering, and of regulatory frameworks, codes, and standards.
- Understanding of global buckling, limit states, and HPHT issues is considered advantageous.
- Experience of concept / feasibility design studies for subsea developments; experience of FEED is considered advantageous.
- Experience of integrity management of subsea pipelines is considered advantageous.
- Experience of pipeline analysis to support design and operations; in-depth knowledge of finite element methods is considered advantageous.
- Experience in the design and analysis of subsea cables is considered advantageous.
- Experience in the design and assessment of CO2 and H2 onshore and offshore pipelines is considered advantageous.
- Proven success in delivering studies and preparing clear, concise reports against time, cost, and quality objectives.
- Enthusiasm to challenge existing practices, improve technical methodologies and analysis techniques.

- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication.
