About the job
Kent is looking for a Project Development Manager to be based in Woking. The successful candidate will manage an entire project team including project engineering managers, projects engineers, engineering disciplines, project services and third parties. Accountable for delivering the Feasibility, Conceptual Design, Pre-FEED, FEED or Detailed Design project or part of a major project in accordance with the Contract, within budget and plan and to agreed corporate and client HSSE and Quality standards.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Typically manages and is responsible for the delivery of Feasibility, Conceptual Design, Pre-FEED, FEED, detailed design projects.
- Able to lead the project from Feasibility through to Detail engineering, guiding the Client through decisions gates and approvals.
- Provides Leadership in HSSE and QA/QC. Approves Project HSSE and QA/QC project plans and monitors effective implementation. Supports Project and Corporate Quality Audits related to QA/QC and HSSE.
- Establishing and adequately resourcing the requirements of the project, including staffing, office facilities, IT infrastructure and IM strategy; regularly reviews demobilisation plans to minimise cost and overheads.
- Manages initial mobilisation of the core project team with actions, timescales, and communication channels established.
- Approves the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and subsidiary coordination procedures; supports Project and Corporate Quality Audits.
- Leads technical reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, value engineering, design integrity, and 3D Model reviews, supported by the Project Engineering Manager, Project Engineers and Lead Discipline Engineers.
- Accountable for the entire project budget and contract; coordinates all activities for initiation, execution and close-out within schedule and contractual requirements; oversees coordination with Clients, Engineering, Subcontractors and internal/external agencies.
- Manages progress monitoring mechanisms and reporting against the project plan; ensures change management processes are applied and corrective actions are implemented when needed.
- Responsible for all management, commercial and technical decisions relating to the project; consults with Project Sponsor or Project Director on major issues and implements resolutions.
- Supervises the project team (typically up to 10-15 lead personnel) including project personnel, engineers, designers, Project Services and third-party contractors.
- Majority of time allocated to supervision, planning, coordination, meetings, approvals and stakeholder engagement. Typical 5-day workweek with a minimum of 4 days in office/worksite for managerial roles.
In addition to the responsibilities listed, the employee may perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed. Tasks will be within the scope of the employee’s skills and role, with consideration for workload and development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience
- Degree in Engineering.
- Chartered Status preferred; significant related project management experience in Oil and Gas.
- Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
- Knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
- Thorough knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of planning and project controls.
Communication
Excellent command of English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
Behaviour/ Core Competencies
- Experience of managing FEED and Detailed Design projects.
- Excellent understanding of contract terms & conditions.
- Global work share experience.
