Scope of Work: Kent is looking for a Project Controls Specialist to provide specialist project controls services on a major/complex EPC project, focusing on implementing effective controls, forecasting, and reporting to support the client in achieving successful delivery. This is for 12 months at our Engineering office based in Woking. We follow a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work, with a requirement to be in the Woking office four days a week.
Key Requirements:
- Project reporting, forecasting, cost management, and cashflow optimisation.
- Development and baselining of the project schedule.
- Implementation of document control and administration processes aligned with contractual requirements.
- Establishment of change management controls to protect budget and hours.
- Oversight of information management systems to ensure effective data flow.
- Delivery of progress reports and early warnings on performance risks.
- Independent leadership and guidance across planning, cost, and document control functions.
- Advisory support to the Engineering Management Team on risks, constraints, and project controls.
- Preparation of documentation to support variations, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Input to commercial negotiations by advising on project control considerations.
- Assurance that processes meet quality and compliance standards, including audit support.
- Ongoing identification of risks, opportunities, and efficiencies to enhance project delivery.
- Significant years of relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrable experience (8 Years and/or 2 No’s of Projects executed) of delivering FEED and/or EPC phase Detailed Design projects as a Project Controls Specialist within the Oil and Gas and/or New Energy and/or Renewable Industry.
- Preferable (but not essential) for candidates to have a blend of FEED and EPC experience.
- Degree Educated in Engineering related field preferred.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to positively influence project delivery and build high-performing integrated teams.
- Delegate authority and responsibility effectively.
- Shows enthusiasm for the development of personnel within the Project team.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills, ability to influence in a calm and professional manner.
- Commercially focused, with demonstrable ability to manage Cost forecasting and Project Change effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of Planning and Project Controls methodologies; utilizing analytical data for status assessment and/or decision making.
- Excellent knowledge of FEED and EPC contracts.
- A strong and effective decision Specialist, guiding team when required.
- Ensures decisions for key elements are recorded formally for auditable trail.
- A strategic thinker, ability to foresee potential issues and proactively manage risk and opportunities throughout the Project.
