Job Description:

Kent is looking for an Electrical Designer to join our Engineering team based in Woking on a contingent basis.

Scope of Work:

  • Preparation of all design related deliverables such as BOM, Panel and Cable schedule, 3D model and model extractions and layouts, interconnection wiring drawings etc.
  • Single line diagram, drawings, diagrams...
  • Layout including lighting, lightning, earthing, equipment, cable routing
  • Input for drafting Area classification drawings and other layouts.
  • Follow CAD standards.
  • Preparation of calculations for Cable tray and trench sizing
  • Decide the substation layouts optimizing the size and design of the same along with the lead designer.
  • Preparation of all layout drawings, 3D models and MTO generation
  • Finalize installation drawings for each specific project.
  • Participate in project design reviews as required.
  • Attend model reviews as per project schedule as required.

Key Requirements:

  • HNC / HND / BEng (or equivalent) in Electrical or Power Engineering.
  • Proficiency in relevant electrical design software - AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartPlant 3D (S3D), Navisworks.
  • Strong knowledge of international design standards and codes (e.g., IEC, BS, IEEE, NEC).
  • Proven experience in electrical design within the oil & gas, petrochemical, or energy sector.
  • Familiarity with project execution phases (FEED, detailed design, EPC)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with project teams and clients.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
