About the role Kent’s Environment Team is looking for experienced environmental professionals to join on a contracting basis.
The role involves managing permits, licenses, consents and approvals throughout the lifecycle of projects in the UK energy sector.
Key responsibilities include coordinating environmental assessments, interfacing with stakeholders and preparing application documents.
Key responsibilities Coordinate environmental assessments, including complex Environmental Impact Assessments.
Navigate consenting regimes such as Development Consent Orders, Town and Country Planning Act, Electricity Act, Infrastructure Consents Order, Marine Licensing, Environmental Permits, and others.
Support projects across all stages—from feasibility and pre‑application through FEED, detailed design, construction, and decommissioning—in sectors such as transmission and distribution, carbon capture, hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, offshore wind, energy from waste, energy storage and data centres.
Prepare high‑standard reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain close liaison with project stakeholders and effective communication within engineering teams.
Manage and/or contribute to Project Management documents.
Key requirements Experience in the UK energy sector and environmental permitting.
Strong report writing and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience across the project lifecycle, including feasibility, pre‑application, FEED, design, construction and decommissioning.
