Full-Time No working from home possible
Kent Wildlife Trust

The Trust offers hybrid working, with staff splitting their time between offices, reserves, visitor centres and some remote work, depending on their role. For this role there is a requirement to work from the Trust's head office for at least two days each week.

About us:

Kent Wildlife Trust is the county’s leading conservation charity, driving innovation to fight the climate and nature crises. We have over 31,000 members and volunteers, manage over 9,000 acres of land and influence much more. Together with our partners, supporters and grazing animals, we transform habitats, restore and protect species and bring ecosystems back to life across the county and beyond, to benefit wildlife and people.

What you'll be doing:

As our Membership Manager, you’ll lead Kent Wildlife Trust’s membership programme, generating around £1.3 million of unrestricted income each year. You’ll develop and deliver our membership strategy to grow income, recruitment and retention, while strengthening our relationships with members and supporting our wider conservation mission.

You’ll lead a small membership team and combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, using CRM data, insight and creativity to improve performance and the member experience.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Leading and developing our membership strategy, plans and KPIs
  • Growing membership through acquisition, retention, renewal and engagement
  • Using data, insight and digital channels to improve performance and identify opportunities
  • Developing compelling membership campaigns, communications and member journeys
  • Working collaboratively across fundraising, marketing, communications and conservation
  • Managing and developing the Membership Officer
  • Managing the membership budget and relationships with suppliers and agencies

What we need you to bring:

  • Experience of developing and delivering successful membership, customer acquisition or retention programmes
  • Strong CRM, data analysis and digital skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A commercial and results-focused approach, with experience of achieving targets
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on delivery
  • Experience of managing or developing others

What we will offer in return:

We offer exceptional enhanced benefits. Recognising the wellbeing pressures related to the climate and nature crises we face as a society, we provide flexible work options, wellbeing initiatives, and professional development opportunities. Whatever stage of your career you’re at, our comprehensive benefits package at Kent Wildlife Trust can be a key factor in your choice to join us.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a face-to-face interview at Tyland Barn on 8th October. We will let unsuccessful candidates know if they have not been shortlisted.

We are unable to recruit anyone who does not have a legal right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we cannot provide visa sponsorship.

Kent Wildlife Trust believes that everyone has a responsibility to safeguard children, young people, and adults at risk; we are committed to ensuring their safety and wellbeing is at the heart of our engagement with people. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to references, Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks as appropriate to the role.

To us, this means inspiring, empowering and engaging people from all backgrounds, cultures, identities and abilities, to change the natural world for the better.
