As part of our commitment to inclusive education following the launch of the new Mainstream Inclusion Fund, we are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work closely with students who have literacy and numeracy needs presenting as barriers to their successful progress in mainstream classes.
The successful candidate will be part of our Learning Support Team working with our Literacy and Numeracy Lead along with our Dyslexia and Dyscalculia HLTA. They will work with individual students, small groups of students, school staff and parents/carers both in a classroom context and also outside of the classroom.
Ideally candidates will have previous experience and training in working with students with a range of needs both in classroom and intervention. Access to ongoing support and training will be provided. You will be ideally confident to support student learning experiences across all areas of need and work with our specialist SEND teachers in and out of classrooms.
You will become part of a team around a specific class and have students you are a trusted adult and key worker for. The role is heavily student facing but does require contributions to student reviews and associated paperwork throughout the year.
It is necessary for the candidate to have qualifications in Maths/Numeracy or English/Literacy equivalent to at least NVQ Level 2.
