Leigh Academy Tonbridge is seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join their support team as soon as possible. Our appointed candidate will receive fantastic training and development opportunities from the outset, with scope to positively influence our students’ learning. This role is suitable for both experienced TAs looking to join our academy and graduates seeking first-hand experience with a view to commencing Teacher Training with us in the future.

In the role of Teaching Assistant, the successful candidate will implement structured learning activities and support pupils in accessing learning under the guidance of the class teacher. You will also provide feedback to pupils on their progress and achievements to help them reach their full potential, while managing classroom activities safely and ensuring the learning environment and resources are conducive to learning.

Main responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to facilitating student access to education, assessing, supporting achievement, and monitoring progress towards EHCP/ILP objectives;
  2. Providing practical and developmental assistance to the line manager in catering for the educational and personal welfare needs of students;
  3. Ensuring a safe working environment for staff and students.

This is a permanent position offering an annual salary of £15,928 (full-time equivalent £23,337) based on 30 hours per week, term time only.
