We are seeking to appoint a Temporary Lunchtime Assistant (potentially for a year) to our popular and oversubscribed primary setting situated in New Romney. The successful applicant will have the ability to work effectively and enthusiastically as part of a team and be able to engage with the children whilst ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to create a positive environment. Good time management and the ability to use your own initiative is essential. If you enjoy working with children and would like to work in a friendly primary setting then this could be the role for you.
We would expect the successful candidate to have a firm but fair approach whilst being patient, listening and understanding the needs of individual pupils.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- To support pupils during mealtimes, such as correct sitting and use of cutlery.
- To support outdoor play activities (indoors in bad weather).
- To prevent accidents, where possible, and provide basic first aid or seek help from a designated first aider, according to the Health and Safety Policy.
