Are you a dynamic, visionary leader with a passion for working with pupils with special educational needs and a commitment to nurturing young minds? We are seeking to appoint a senior leader to the post of Assistant Headteacher for our Lower Primary phase to join our dedicated leadership team and help shape the future of our school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have proven leadership experience and a strong understanding of high-quality teaching.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the needs of pupils with SEN, including those with a primary diagnosis of social, emotional and mental health needs.
  • Be passionate about high standards and achievement and excellence for all.
  • Communicate effectively, build strong relationships, and motivate others.
  • Be committed to inclusion and safeguarding.
  • Demonstrate resilience, integrity, and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Work successfully as part of a larger team.
  • Demonstrate and model excellent classroom practice and foster high achievement.

As Assistant Headteacher, you will take strategic responsibility for pupils within your key stage, ensuring they experience a broad, well-sequenced, and coherent curriculum. You will lead on the management of safeguarding, behaviour and targeted interventions, while driving improvements in attendance and engagement. The successful candidate will model exemplary practice and foster a culture where every pupil enjoys a positive, enriching school experience and is supported to achieve their full potential.

We are an Outstanding foundation day special school for children and young people aged between 4 – 16 years. We offer our pupils a high quality of education, accessible to learners of varied abilities and different learning styles, whilst taking into consideration their social, emotional, behaviours and mental health needs.

The school is designated for 225 pupils with learning difficulties and SEMH needs. Many pupils also have Autism Spectrum Conditions and communication difficulties or ADHD.
