Kent Students’ Union is looking for a Technical Operations Manager to manage and deliver IT and technical services across our organisation. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, student-led environment, supporting a wide range of systems and services—from core IT infrastructure and digital platforms to live events, venues and commercial outlets.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver the day-to-day operation of IT and Technical Services
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, systems, networks and security
  • Manage suppliers, contractors and technical services
  • Oversee technical delivery for events, venues and AV systems
  • Deliver technical projects and system improvements
  • Line manage staff and coordinate team delivery

What we’re looking for

  • Experience in IT or technical service delivery
  • Experience managing people, suppliers or projects
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure and support
  • Ability to work across a broad range of technologies (IT, AV, EPOS, events)
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
