Physical Location: Kent Campus - Kent, OH

Salary: $17.47 per hour

Basic Function: Oversees employees assigned to a shift and prepares food/beverages for training purposes. Leads, instructs and trains employees and assists with operational needs to ensure a food service unit runs efficiently. Reports to Manager, General Manager, or other designated supervisor.

Examples of Duties: Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Leads, instructs and trains employees assigned to shift.
  • Prepares food and beverages for training purposes.
  • Provides great customer service and meets customer needs.
  • Maintains inventory and manages stock; orders inventory and stock as needed.
  • Runs cash register, tenders cash and handles transactions with customers.
  • Assigns and monitors work activities; reports operational issues and concerns; delegates tasks and assists with resolutions to on-the-job challenges.
  • Coordinates transition at end of shift to others i.e. shift supervisors or manager.
  • Coordinates opening and closing of location(s) as assigned.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent or successful completion of a culinary program; two years of experience in a high volume food production setting. Must be able to work varied hours and shifts to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

License/Certification: Must acquire the Ohio Department of Health's Level Two certification in Food Protection during the employee's probationary period.

Knowledge Of: Culinary terminology and techniques, Food safety practices.

Skill In: Operating kitchen equipment and utensils, Problem solving.

Ability To: Read (e.g. computer generated production sheets), write (fill out forms, inventory counts), and accurately follow recipe instructions; Maintain accurate records; Work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment; Train and provide effective work direction to other employees; Manage time effectively and set priorities; Carry out and assist in implementing changes; Understand and apply brand standards.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Demonstrate physical dexterity and lift 50 pounds.
