Kent State University's College of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer beginning Fall 2026. We seek an experienced, student-focused educator to join our dynamic and growing nursing program.

The successful candidate will primarily teach pediatric nursing in the BSN curriculum and may also teach undergraduate and graduate-level nursing courses outside the pediatric specialty, as needed.

Examples of Duties:
  • Responsibilities include both classroom and clinical instruction, with a strong commitment to nursing education at multiple levels.
  • Teach pediatric nursing courses in the BSN program.
  • Teach assigned graduate nursing courses within the college's graduate curriculum.
  • Provide high-quality instruction in both didactic and clinical settings.
  • Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and program enhancement.
  • Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to support student success.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Nurse Practitioner degree with a Pediatric Concentration (required at time of hire).
  • Active unrestricted Ohio RN License (and NP Licensure, if applicable).
  • A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Pediatric Nursing.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and student engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five years of Pediatric Clinical experience.
  • Experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Doctoral Degree (PhD or DNP) preferred.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
