Salary: $40,000 - $43,000
Basic Function: Assist Head Gymnastics Coach in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and training of intercollegiate gymnastics team. Reports to Head Gymnastics Coach.
Examples of Duties: Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Assist in coaching the gymnastics team; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork;
- Analyze performance of student athletes;
- Scout opponents;
- Assist in the development of team strategy;
- Scout and recruit student athletes;
- Counsel and advise student athletes with personal and academic problems;
- Assist in fundraising activities to subsidize athletic program;
- May supervise students and/or provide functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis;
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in collegiate coaching or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a total of six years which includes coaching gymnastics levels 9 to Elite.
License/Certification: Knowledge Of: National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations.
Skill In: Training or instructing student athletes; Interpersonal communication.
Ability To: Analyze situations and develop solutions; Travel; Work non-traditional hours.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements: Typically requires balance, strength, flexibility and endurance sufficient to demonstrate, teach and develop skills of student athletes. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building and off campus frequently. May work varied hours to include evenings and weekends during peak periods.
