Serve as chief assistant to the Director of University Advising in administration, training professional development, and advisor recognition. Assist daily operations of placement and testing services and represent specific programming responsibilities designated by the Director.
Duties
- Represent University Advising on committees and work groups related to academic advising and student success; serve as liaison to constituent groups.
- Assist development, implementation, and assessment of training and professional development.
- Create and implement an advisor recognition program.
- Oversee Peer Advising Leader program and supervise intermittent advisors and student employees.
- Direct placement and testing related programs, ensuring policies and guidelines are followed and assessing effectiveness.
- Coordinate university testing services (ALEKS, Accuplacer, CLE, WebCape, proctoring, reassessments).
- Manage scheduling, registration, and staffing for placement and testing; coordinate administration of placement for math, foreign languages, and English.
- Serve as liaison to academic departments setting cut scores; oversee placement technologies.
- Contact Meazure Learning and Educational Testing Consultants for partnership services.
- Represent department at campus events and admissions/resource fairs.
- Convene University Placement Committee and Multiple Measures Committee (MMAP) quarterly and liaise with groups on placement and testing procedures.
- Collect and disseminate monthly semester and annual placement and testing data.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant field and two years of higher‑education or directly related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four years of higher‑education or directly related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Background and experience in placement and testing functions on a college campus.
