We are recruiting for a Service Receptionist to join Kent Police Transport Services at Quarry Wood Workshop. As the first point of contact for customers and visitors, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy vehicle maintenance facility. You will be responsible for coordinating vehicle bookings, managing customer enquiries, maintaining accurate records and supporting the efficient scheduling of maintenance and repair work.
Working closely with workshop staff, fleet users and external suppliers, you will help ensure vehicles are serviced, repaired and returned to operational use as efficiently as possible. Reporting to the Reception Team Leader, you will provide professional administrative support that contributes directly to the delivery of an effective and customer-focused fleet service. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change throughout the day.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in an administrative or customer service environment and be confident communicating with a wide range of customers and stakeholders. Experience within a vehicle workshop, service reception or automotive environment would be advantageous, together with knowledge of vehicle servicing and maintenance processes. You should possess strong organisational skills, be able to manage competing priorities effectively and maintain a high level of accuracy in your work. Experience using Microsoft Office applications and electronic record management systems is essential, whilst experience using fleet or workshop management systems would be beneficial.
Salary Progression
Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £30,453.00.
