About the job:

Kent is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and providing progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Undertakes specified tasks / areas of work dependent on size and complexity of project, as defined by the Lead/Principal Engineer or Project Engineering Manager. Capable of supervising and checking the work of other Engineers as delegated by the Lead Engineer / Group Manager.
The Senior Electrical Engineer is typically accountable to the Lead / Principal Engineer, or Project Engineer, discipline Lead Engineer and/or
Project Manager, depending on size and complexity of the Project. Corporate reporting line is to respective Departmental / Group Manager.
We follow a hybrid working model that combines office and remote work, with a requirement to be in the Woking office four days a week. This approach supports the development of a strong and effective team dynamic within Engineering.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- engineering deliverables are issued in line with project execution plans and contractual requirements. Manages electrical engineering activities across all project phases, ensuring safe, technically compliant, and cost-effective delivery in accordance with project schedules and client requirements.
- Responsible for the preparation, review, and management of the Master Document Register (MDR), ensuring all electrical
- Reviews and interprets key project documentation including Basis of Design, philosophies, specifications, standards, and scopes of work, identifying and resolving technical deviations, risks, and discrepancies with the Lead / Principal Engineer and wider project team.
- Takes technical ownership of electrical systems and deliverables, ensuring engineering integrity, design consistency, and compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Leads, coordinates, and checks the work of engineers and designers within the electrical discipline, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely completion of deliverables.
- Prepares and approves key electrical engineering deliverables including Single Line Diagrams, Load Lists, Cable Schedules, Equipment Datasheets, Specifications, Philosophies, Calculations, and Material Requisitions for major and long-lead equipment.
- Supports project delivery through effective planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and management of discipline deliverables to meet project milestones and budget requirements.
- Interfaces closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, clients, construction, and commissioning personnel to ensure integrated design development and efficient project execution.
- Leads and supports technical bid evaluations, vendor clarifications, and vendor document reviews to ensure compliance with project specifications, operational requirements, and overall system compatibility.
- Participates in design reviews, HAZOP/HAZID studies, model reviews, constructability reviews, and risk assessments, ensuring safe and operable electrical system designs.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), equipment inspections, and commissioning activities to ensure successful equipment integration and project handover.
- Ensures all engineering activities are executed in compliance with company Quality Management Systems, Project Quality Plans, Design Integrity requirements.
- Assists with management of technical queries, change control, deviations, and engineering issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contributes to lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and the development of engineering standards and work processes.
- Performs additional duties as required by the Lead / Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager in support of successful project execution and delivery.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Yourknowledge/skills,education,andexperience:
- Typically, BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering, master’s is a plus.
- Must be member of a Professional Engineering Institution. However, Chartered status is bonus
- Experience working for Engineering / Operation / Services in the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Exposure to Consultancy, FEED / Detailed Design and EPC projects.
- Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
- Knowledge of standard national and international specifications and codes.
- Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
Behaviour/ Core Competencies:
- Good coordination, monitoring and supervisory skills.
- Proactive approach and attention to detail.
