Scope of Work: Kent is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to be based in Woking on an Outside IR35 contract basis.
Deliverables:
- Manage electrical engineering services that meet KENT, its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
- Manage electrical engineering project requirements.
- Manage electrical engineering services such as:
- Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and comply with the required checking procedures.
- Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
- Provide advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
- Act as the electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
- Proactively resolve any discrepancies between KENT and its Customer's requirements.
- Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.
- Design the electrical distribution systems in a project team environment with a focus on studies, Front End (FEED) design, detailed design, for new plants.
- Prepare Electrical equipment specifications, data sheets and purchasing requisitions.
- Develop/Coordinate protective relay settings and coordination studies.
- Load List and Electrical equipment sizing.
- Design of LV & MV Single Line Diagrams with strong knowledge of Relay & Metering systems associated with substations and e-houses.
- Design of motor protection and control schematics/wiring diagrams.
- Review vendor designs for compliance with Technical Specifications and applicable standards.
- Support team members on projects.
- Update electrical schedule progress on assigned projects.
- Provide Electrical BOMs and major equipment costs for capital cost estimates at various project stages (Feasibility Study, PDB and Detailed Engineering).
- Establish the scope of work for projects/proposals, developing engineering cost estimates and deliverable lists.
- Attend project team meetings, Client meetings and vendor review meetings.
- Establish a good working relationship with the Clients.
- Review designs for constructability and accordance with project requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Typically Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience working for Engineering / Client organisations in the Oil and Gas Industry.
- Exposure to Consultancy, FEED / Detailed Design and EPC projects.
- Knowledge of international equipment specifications and codes.
- In depth knowledge of standard international specifications and codes.
- Knowledge of Safety and Quality procedures.
- Activity Scheduling and discipline work priorities.
