We are seeking a Payroll Advisor to join Kent College, Canterbury. The role involves providing expert payroll services, including submission of all monthly and end‑of‑year statutory returns to HMRC and managing multiple pension schemes. The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 CIPP qualification, has experience with payroll systems, and can manage pension schemes. Experience in an independent school setting is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit monthly payroll and statutory returns to HMRC.
  • Maintain accuracy of employee payroll records and deductions.
  • Manage pension scheme contributions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collate and process payroll data for multiple schools within the college.
  • Support payroll staff with queries and provide guidance on payroll best practice.
  • Ensure statutory reporting and timely submissions to governing bodies.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 CIPP qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience with payroll systems and pension scheme administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of HMRC payroll regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in an independent school environment (desirable).
