Following the success of an innovative pilot, we are excited to offer this permanent Lead Nurse (Band 8B) role within the Women's Outreach Service. This is a system‑wide leadership role within a cross‑county service funded by the KSS Secure Provider Collaborative, working across PICU, prison healthcare and community pathways to improve outcomes for women and promote care in the least restrictive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure women receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time, reducing unnecessary secure admissions and championing trauma‑informed approaches.
- Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle for business purposes (unless disabled as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
- Provide expert clinical leadership across forensic pathways, supporting women in PICU and prison healthcare settings to avoid unnecessary admission to secure services.
- Lead case formulation, pathway planning and complex case reviews to support safe, effective care in less restrictive environments.
- Work with the proximal support network in a preventative model, strengthening relationships, building staff confidence and improving patient journeys.
- Deliver training, supervision and consultation to multidisciplinary teams, contributing to workforce development and consistency of care.
- Support service development, pathway redesign and system‑wide improvement, alongside contributing to audit, research and evaluation activity to strengthen evidence‑based practice.
