We are seeking to recruit a part‑time (22.5 hrs a week) Occupational Therapy Assistant, with a passion and enthusiasm for working in Perinatal Mental Health, to join our multi‑professional team working within the specialist Perinatal Rosewood Mother and Baby unit (MBU) located in Dartford.
Under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist and in consultation with professionally registered members of the Multidisciplinary Team, the post holder will be expected to assist in the delivery of therapeutic interventions within the Rosewood Mother & Baby Unit by:
- Using skills and experience to plan and provide flexible, patient‑centred 1:1 or group activity‑based interventions that contribute to meeting the assessed needs of mothers and the treatment service as outlined within their care plan.
- Working alongside the multidisciplinary team to facilitate therapeutic interventions for the mother and infant.
- Undertaking clinically related administration and assisting with non‑clinical tasks to ensure the smooth running of the service, guided by an appropriate senior colleague.
Part‑time 22.5 hours per week, job‑shared across a 7‑day week, alternating with the existing OTA. The existing OTA works 3 × 12 pm‑8 pm shifts per week. Example schedule: Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; Week 2: Saturday, Sunday, Monday; Week 3: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; Week 4: Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Post holders will alternate working every other weekend.
Qualifications:
- Education: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- Prior work experience in a similar care setting, with experience engaging people with differing needs and abilities.
- Experience working with service users and families and in multi‑professional team working.
