Key Responsibilities
- Clinical lead responsibilities for the service, working with the team manager to run a safe and effective service; deputise as the most senior member in the manager's absence.
- Maintain own caseload of assessment, individual and group interventions, and share clinical expertise with the team to build their knowledge and skills.
- Work confidently with complex mental health presentations in children and young people, engaging the personal and professional network important to that young person.
- Attend organisational meetings to represent the local team, contributing to the delivery of evidence‑based interventions and identifying training needs of the clinical team.
- Offer regular clinical supervision to the team, and support the development of trainees in other areas where they require supervision within your professional competence.
Qualifications
- Doctoral qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, or equivalent for psychotherapists.
- Significant experience working within mental health services, ideally children and young people's services.
- Membership with a relevant professional organisation such as HCPC, BABCP, BPC or UKCP.
