Dispenser (Maternity Cover) – 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract


We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Dispenser to join our busy GP practice team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract.


This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and patient-focused environment, helping to ensure that our dispensing patients receive their medications safely, accurately and efficiently.


Hours of Work



  • Tuesday: 1.00pm – 6.00pm

  • Friday: 8.00am – 6.00pm (30-minute unpaid lunch break)


About the Role



  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of our dispensary, including:

  • Dispensing prescriptions accurately and safely

  • Assisting patients with medication enquiries

  • Maintaining dispensing records

  • Managing stock and ordering medicines

  • Supporting medicines management and audit activities

  • Working closely with GPs, pharmacists and the wider practice team


What We’re Looking For



  • Essential:

  • Previous dispensing experience or NHS experience

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team


Desirable:



  • Qualified Dispenser or equivalent dispensing qualification

  • Previous GP practice or community pharmacy experience

  • Knowledge of EMIS Web
