About the Practice
We are a friendly, progressive and patient-focused GP surgery with an on-site dispensary, serving our local community. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver high-quality, safe, and efficient care. We are now looking to recruit a motivated Clinical Pharmacy Technician to join our award-winning team.
The Role
As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will play a key role in supporting medicines optimisation and the safe, effective use of medicines across the practice. You will work closely with our clinical pharmacy technician, clinical pharmacist, GPs, nurses, and dispensary staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Support medicines optimisation and reconciliation for patients, including post-discharge reviews and actioning clinic letters
- Manage repeat prescription requests in line with practice protocols
- Carry out pre-medication reviews to ensure monitoring for medications are up-to-date
- Liaise with community pharmacies, hospitals, and other healthcare providers
- Undertake projects to improve patient care and cost-effective prescribing
- Support checking in the dispensary
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Pharmacy Technician with GPhC registration
- Good understanding of medicines management and repeat prescribing processes
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP) or willingness to undertake
- ACT qualification or willingness to undertake
- Enthusiasm and passion for patient care
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in a GP surgery
- Experience with medication reviews, audits, or QOF-related work
