Job Responsibilities
- Provide general patient care and perform routine treatments and procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with personal hygiene to promote patient comfort and well-being.
- Check and record intake and output as ordered.
- Take and record patient’s vital signs and other measurements as indicated.
- Perform routine tasks such as giving enemas, reinforcing dressings, applying binders, collecting specimens, and applying heat or cold devices.
- Assist the RN in caring for seriously ill patients or in complex treatments or procedures.
- Help maintain a safe and clean environment with well-stocked supplies and functioning equipment.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, documenting all care provided and significant information.
- Observe patients and report any concerns or changes in condition to the RN/Team Leader.
- Attend seminars and inservices to stay current with specialty knowledge.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Vocational/Technical training and over six months of related experience or equivalent.
- RI State Nursing Assistant license required.
