We are looking for motivated, articulate and numerate people with excellent writing skills who can advise on transport aspects of planning applications, help devise schemes, secure their funding, and coordinate their delivery through a range of partners. These are career grade roles suiting applicants with relevant experience for the KSG grade and for graduates/inexperienced candidates with the right skill set for the KSF grade where you will be trained and supported to excel in your role and progress through the team.
This role is subject to holding a Full UK Driving Licence. The Council is committed to making reasonable adjustments so whilst this job requires the jobholder to drive, your application will still be considered if you are unable to drive due to a disability. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification. Please note that these roles are not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Opportunities have arisen to join KCC's Transport & Development team, assessing the highways and transportation aspects of development proposals and associated service and infrastructure measures. These are permanent positions at grade KSF/G (£30,404 to £38,304). You will be supported to work flexibly including from home and KCC offices across Kent. Transport & Development is at the forefront of guiding the way in which new developments can come forward to deliver jobs and housing as part of our sustainable growth ambition for Kent.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on transport aspects of planning applications and help devise schemes.
- Secure funding and coordinate delivery through a range of partners.
- Assess highways and transportation aspects of development proposals and related service and infrastructure measures.
- Support flexible working arrangements, including from home and KCC offices across Kent.
