Responsibilities
- Manage a complex and varied caseload
- Provide practice leadership, guidance and reflective support to colleagues
- Contribute to training and development initiatives
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with partner agencies
- Represent Children’s Services in court and multi‑agency forums
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of child development theory, legislation, policy and practice, sharing learning across the team
- Act as a role model, supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues and contributing to the development of high‑quality social work practice across the team
Qualifications & Experience
- Professionally registered Social Worker, holding a recognised qualification (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent), with a range of post‑qualification experience working with children and families
- Strong experience of systemic practice
- An in‑depth understanding of legislative and policy frameworks
- Confidence in managing complex cases and supporting best practice
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- A collaborative approach, working effectively with colleagues and partner agencies across the statutory, voluntary and private sectors
