There is a vacancy in the dynamic, vibrant Children Social Work Services Team in Dover. This is an opportunity to join a successful team led by an exceptionally supportive Team Manager, where you have the opportunity to make a real difference to the children we look after.

As a Social Work Assistant, you will support and deliver social work services to children and families, in line with statutory requirements, directorate policy, and national legislation. This includes assisting Social Workers with assessments and care plan recommendations, as well as providing support for individual young people.

The service values engagement and participation with children and hosts a calendar of events throughout the year, fostering fun and enriching care experiences. You will receive excellent support to develop your skills and reach your potential.

We seek a candidate who is flexible, a good communicator, capable of producing high-standard written reports, collaborates well with partner agencies, and has a passion for providing outstanding service to children.

Ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner is essential.

This position requires an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

As a customer-facing role, the Council ensures candidates have sufficient command of spoken English/Welsh, as per Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016), to perform the job effectively. Standards are outlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
