Sunrise Children\’s Centre offers overnight short breaks for children and young people in West Kent, from the age of 5 to 18 years old, who have disabilities, including Autism and complex medical health needs. We support children to have fun, learn skills, make choices, and be supported in a safe and nurturing environment, enabling families to have a break.
We are seeking a Shift Leader for 30 hours per week. The role involves working a 4-week rolling rota shift pattern, including two weekends per month and sleep-in duties.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work as part of a busy team, and provide high standards of leadership while creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children and young people of varying needs. The role also requires assisting with and carrying out personal care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking training in medication management and maintaining competencies, ensuring medication is given in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Leading shifts by example, demonstrating leadership to the team and children/young people.
- Having completed the Diploma level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People\’s Workforce, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this, applying training and knowledge in practice.
- Exhibiting excellent time management and a non-biased approach during shifts.
- Working with the team to ensure all children and young people have opportunities for positive and inclusive social experiences.
- Communicating with transparency.
- Having awareness of the Children\’s Home (England) Regulations 2015 and being able to implement them.
