We have an exciting opportunity to join the Canterbury Occupational Therapy Team and to deliver strengths based and person‑centred Occupational Therapy Interventions working with adults. As an Occupational Therapy Assessment Officer, you will work with the person within their home, using functional assessments to identify the outcomes that most matter to them. You will find creative solutions to enhance independence utilising equipment, adaptations, and techniques. The role will involve working in partnership with a variety of agencies including Health and Housing to ensure that people are supported in the most effective way to meet their needs and to improve their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessment and Planning: Conduct functional assessments, identify outcomes, and develop personalised plans.
- Implementation: Apply evidence‑based interventions, use equipment, adaptations, and techniques to promote independence.
- Collaboration: Work in partnership with other agencies such as Health and Housing to coordinate care and improve outcomes.
- Travel and Flexibility: Travel across a wide geographical area, work flexible hours including occasional outside normal office hours. Hybrid working across office base, community and home, with provided technology and equipment.

Requirements
