This is an opportunity to take a leading role in the development and delivery of Kent County Council's Crisis and Resilience Fund, supporting residents who are experiencing financial hardship and need timely, practical help.

As Crisis Support Team Leader, you will provide operational leadership to a team of Case Officers, helping to shape a newly established service and ensuring that decisions are timely, fair, consistent and well evidenced.

This is a key role within the Financial Hardship Programme, combining people management, operational oversight, quality assurance and confident decision-making in a fast-paced crisis support environment.

You will be joining at an important point in the development of the service, with a genuine opportunity to influence how crisis support is delivered across Kent and make a meaningful difference to residents facing financial hardship.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until March 2028, working in a hybrid format, with the base being Sessions House, Maidstone.

A secondment opportunity will be considered for internal candidates, but please seek agreement from your current manager before applying.

We are looking for a confident and supportive leader who can manage a high-pressure operational environment while maintaining a strong focus on staff wellbeing and high-quality service delivery.

Effective communication, sound judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.

You will also bring experience of working in a customer-focused or frontline service, ideally within a financial hardship or welfare context.

The Financial Hardship Programme delivers a range of support to residents facing financial hardship, including crisis support, referrals into wider services, and partnership working across the county.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.

The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
