Shape the future of Kent and Medway. Kent County Council and Medway Council are leading the preparation of a new Spatial Development Strategy (SDS) for Kent and Medway - an ambitious, statutory framework that will guide growth, infrastructure and investment decisions across the county for the next 20 years and beyond.

This is a unique opportunity to play a defining role in one of the most significant changes to the planning system in a generation. As Spatial Development Strategy Manager, you will lead the successful preparation, adoption and implementation of a strategy that responds to long-term challenges in Kent and Medway, including those relating to housing delivery, infrastructure provision, nature recovery and economic growth.

You will work collaboratively with Kent district and borough authorities (or any successor authorities), Government departments and agencies, and other stakeholders across the public and private sectors to develop a clear spatial vision and deliver a strategy that supports high quality, inclusive growth across Kent and Medway.

We are looking for an exceptional planning professional with the credibility, leadership skills and political awareness to operate at a strategic level in the backdrop of a dynamic and exciting landscape in local government.
