Ceremonies Officers are one of the first points of contact for couples booking a civil ceremony in Kent. They lead the frontline services in Register Offices and guide couples through the stages of booking and planning the legal aspects of their ceremony. The role offers the opportunity to meet a wide range of people and help them through one of the biggest days of their lives. Delivering outstanding customer service and demonstrating a high level of technical knowledge are key parts of the role.

The main responsibilities involve:

  • Delivering Legal Preliminary appointments
  • Liaising with customers over all administrative aspects of their ceremonies
  • Delivering Register Office and Civil Partnership ceremonies, being trained as both a Registrar and Celebrant

37 hours per week are worked across a range of hours including weekends, and you may be required to undertake periods of lone working, as well as occasional working at other locations across the district.
