We are looking for an Intelligence Assistant to join our Intelligence & Data Team. This is an important role supporting intelligence‑led activity across the service, ensuring information is handled accurately, securely and effectively. As an Intelligence Assistant, you will support the day‑to‑day delivery of intelligence services. You will play a key part in ensuring information is processed correctly and contributes to operational and strategic activity. You will work closely with analysts and colleagues across the service, using your research skills to gather and interpret information, helping to build a clear picture from a range of intelligence sources.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately inputting and maintaining intelligence records within intelligence databases.
  • Processing and assessing information in a timely and structured way.
  • Conducting research and intelligence checks, reporting results clearly.
  • Collating and presenting information from a variety of sources.
  • Supporting the production of intelligence reports and analytical products.
  • Sharing intelligence in line with agreed processes and legislation.
  • Contributing to improvements in systems, processes and data quality.

  • Strong research skills with the ability to find, assess and piece together information from different sources.
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to work with data or database systems.

This post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service and Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) Level 2. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer‑facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. Appointment will be dependent on successful completion of the required vetting checks. Guidance will be provided throughout the process.
