An opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated, committed Business Support Officer to join the Children, Young People and Education Provision Planning team in North Kent. The post‑holder will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the Assistant Director Education (North Kent) and the Area Schools Organisation Officer, to assist in the smooth running of the service and its day‑to‑day functioning.
This role requires excellent IT, organisational and problem‑solving skills, the ability to handle complex diary management and to devise and oversee a range of administrative systems on behalf of the Assistant Director. Applicants must be extremely organised, possess excellent time‑management skills and the ability to take accurate and timely minutes of meetings.
The successful candidate will work independently, demonstrate excellent communication and customer‑care skills, maintain a professional and confident telephone manner, and work under pressured time‑frames. Confidentiality will be essential as the role may have access to sensitive information.
We are currently working flexibly; the contractual base will be in Worrall House, West Malling, and the post is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council has a statutory duty to ensure post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
