Kent County Council’s Unaccompanied Asylum‑Seeking (UAS) Children’s Service runs reception centres that provide accommodation and support to newly arrived UAS children. The Limes Reception Centre in Dartford offers supported accommodation for 16‑17 year‑old UAS children and is part of a nationally recognised centre of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily routines and timekeeping for children.
- Set goals and support the learning culture within the centre.
- Provide direct support in a residential setting and help shape the resettlement of children who have experienced trauma.
Key Requirements
- Experience working with UAS children or similar vulnerable groups.
- Command of spoken English (and Welsh if required) sufficient for effective performance of duties.
- Full UK driving licence (reasonable adjustments for disability are considered if driving is not possible).
- Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Working Hours and Pattern
This role requires a rolling shift pattern with alternating shifts and coverage over weekends. The rota consists of four work days followed by two rest days, alternating between 8:00 am – 4:30 pm and 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm.
