We work with multiple awarding bodies and deliver a range of qualification opportunities for our learners.
Our Invigilation Officers, who form part of our Exam and Learner Services team, play a crucial role in the success of our learners' progress by ensuring that the integrity of the exam process is upheld. We have an opportunity for Invigilation Officers to join our exams team in delivering the successful provision of exams across Kent. The role is on an ad hoc basis depending on when exams are running. Our peak period of exam activity is from May to July, but we run exams every month so are often in need of invigilation support.
This is a permanent relief (zero hours) position paid with an hourly pay rate of £12.74. We find that most invigilation periods span around 2.5 to 3 hours. The successful candidate will be somebody who is looking for part-time work. You will be flexible, with excellent communication skills and a confident and reassuring presence to candidates sitting exams.
Your role will be to ensure that examinations are conducted according to the regulations, to enable all candidates to have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. You will ensure the security of the examination materials before, during and after the examination and prevent possible candidate malpractice and administrative failures. You don’t need to have experience of invigilation, as training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided. If you have previous invigilation experience, you will be required to declare whether you have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to you.
KCC is committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the county's working residents, encouraging applications from people of all ages, abilities, genders, sexual orientations, ethnic backgrounds, faiths and those with caring responsibilities, and aspires to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves at work.
