Are you interested in working within a busy Health and Safety Team committed to continuous improvement and supporting positive Health and Safety management systems and culture across a large organisation? We are looking for a Health and Safety Adviser to join the team to provide excellent health and safety advice across the functions of the County Council. This role will suit an enthusiastic, passionate, and aspiring safety professional.

  • Supporting policy development
  • Advising

  • Investigating incidents
  • Working closely with services and teams to create solutions for health and safety challenges
  • Sharing best practice

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The role will often be demanding, and there is a need to be highly organised, juggle competing demands, whilst keeping self-motivated. A strong attention to detail is essential along with great IT and analytical skills. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders; the ability to travel across the county is also a must.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar Health and Safety role
  • Hold or be working towards a NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to travel across the county
