An opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated, committed Business Support Officer to join the Children, Young People and Education Provision Planning team in North Kent.
Role Responsibility
The post‑holder will provide support and assistance to the Assistant Director Education (North Kent) and the Area Schools Organisation Officer, helping to ensure the smooth running of the service and its day‑to‑day functioning. Key duties include:
- Complex diary management for the Assistant Director.
- Developing and overseeing a range of administrative systems on behalf of the Assistant Director.
- Taking accurate and timely minutes of meetings.
- Working under own initiative to deliver excellent communication and customer care, maintaining a professional and confident telephone manner.
- Ensuring confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Applicants should possess excellent IT, organisational and problem‑solving skills, strong time‑management abilities, and the capacity to handle pressured timeframes.
Qualifications & Expectations
Experience in high‑level administrative support, diary management and minute‑taking is preferred. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent verbal communication, and a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection. This position is subject to a Basic Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service. As a customer‑facing role, post holders must demonstrate sufficient command of spoken English to meet statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016).
