Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role based in Margate.
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing cost plans and budgets, producing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and managing cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Day-to-day tasks include conducting measurements and valuations, preparing cost reports, monitoring financial progress, and advising on procurement and contract matters.
The role involves collaborating with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure accurate financial forecasting, risk management, and value for money.
The Quantity Surveyor will also support sustainability and Net Zero Carbon objectives by integrating cost-effective, environmentally responsible solutions into project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong cost planning and cost management skills, with experience in developing and maintaining project budgets.
- Demonstrated ability in cost control and cost reporting to track project performance and support decision-making.
- Proficiency in preparing, interpreting, and managing BOQs and other quantity surveying documentation.
- Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership or progression toward membership of RICS or CIOB is highly beneficial.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, procurement routes, and industry standards.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Familiarity with sustainability, Net Zero Carbon principles, and modern construction methods is an advantage.
