Overview
Work within an Integrated Children’s Therapy team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, assistants and administrators for children aged 0‑19. Provide assessment, review and therapy interventions for children with need in AAC, pre‑verbal communication, receptive & expressive language, speech, stammering and selective mutism.
Work in close partnership with schools, other education providers and the local authority SEND services. The post-holder will be part of the team covering early years and school years children in mainstream schools, working with schools, SEND services, health professionals and tertiary centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, review and therapy interventions for children within the above areas of need.
- Work in partnership with schools, local authority SEND services, health professionals and tertiary centres.
- Maintain safety and clinical quality: use sound clinical skills, effective risk assessments, evidence‑based policies and procedures.
- Support service quality through holistic care planning, development of integrated care programmes, supervision of junior staff and students.
Band 6 HCP Expectations
- Keep the people who use our services safe through sound clinical skills and risk assessments.
- Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up‑to‑date skills and adhering to evidence based policies and procedures.
- Ensuring the people who use our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with them.
- Act as a role model, supervise more junior members of the team (qualified and unqualified) and students, and provide leadership within the team.
