Help Shape the Future of Quality, Governance and Excellence

Are you an ambitious health or social care professional who wants to make a meaningful impact beyond operational delivery? Do you have the drive, curiosity and leadership potential to influence organisational excellence, strengthen governance and help shape the future of services for autistic people and people with learning disabilities?

At The Kent Autistic Trust, we are proud of the difference we make every day. We are recognised for delivering high-quality, person-centred support and for creating environments where people can thrive. However, we are not content with maintaining standards. We are committed to continually raising them.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that embraces innovation, invests in its people and is committed to being outstanding in everything it does. We are looking for an exceptional Quality, Compliance & Governance Manager to work alongside our Chief Executive Officer, Senior Management Team and operational leaders, helping to ensure that strong governance, robust assurance and continuous improvement remain at the heart of our success.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a compliance role. It is an opportunity to influence strategic decision-making, help shape organisational priorities and contribute to the future direction of an ambitious and growing charity. Working closely with leaders across the Trust, you will bring together information, evidence and insight from across the organisation, transforming it into meaningful action that strengthens services, drives improvement and supports outstanding outcomes. You will help us navigate an evolving regulatory landscape, support innovation and improvement initiatives, and ensure that our governance arrangements enable excellence rather than simply monitor it.

Most importantly, you will join an amazing team of talented and passionate people who bring exciting ideas, fresh perspectives and the energy to drive exceptional practice throughout our organisation.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Support the CEO, Senior Management Team, Board and committees through the production of high-quality reports, governance papers, performance information and action tracking
  • Coordinate organisational assurance processes, compliance records, action plans and supporting evidence
  • Monitor developments relating to CQC regulation, health and safety, contract compliance, safeguarding, governance and Charity Commission requirements
  • Translate changing requirements into clear processes, practical guidance, templates and effective evidence frameworks.
  • Analyse information from multiple sources, identifying themes, trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Produce professional reports, dashboards, briefings, presentations and governance packs that support effective decision-making
  • Build strong and positive working relationships with managers and teams across the Trust.
  • Spend time within services to ensure governance activity remains connected to the realities of frontline practice
  • Support organisational projects, quality improvement initiatives, commissioner responses, bids and tenders
  • Utilise Microsoft 365, organisational systems and AI-enabled technologies to improve reporting, analysis and efficiency
  • Contribute to workshops, coaching, training and leadership development activities as your expertise grows.

What You Must Have

  • Experience within learning disability and autism services
  • A strong understanding of regulated health and social care environments
  • Experience coordinating complex workstreams, managing information and producing high-quality reports
  • Awareness of CQC requirements and the importance of safeguarding, health and safety, governance, contract compliance and evidence-based assurance
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders and balancing competing priorities
  • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong written communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Confidence presenting information and reports to senior leaders committees or governance forums
  • Competence in Microsoft 365, data handling and digital systems
  • The ability to work independently, use sound judgement and recognise when issues require escalation

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is ambitious, forward-thinking and motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact. You will enjoy bringing structure to complexity, connecting people and ideas, and turning insight into meaningful improvement. You will be naturally curious, eager to learn and excited by opportunities to develop your expertise across governance, quality, compliance and organisational performance. Most importantly, you will share our belief that strong governance creates the conditions for great services to flourish. You will be someone who sees possibilities, not obstacles, and who is inspired by helping talented teams achieve even more.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to join an organisation that genuinely aspires to be sector leading. At The Kent Autistic Trust, we are proud of our achievements, but we remain focused on what comes next. We continue to invest in leadership, innovation, digital transformation, service development and new ways of working that improve outcomes for the people we support. You will become part of an ambitious, energetic and values-driven leadership community that welcomes fresh thinking, encourages constructive challenge and believes in continuous learning.

In return, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Influence organisation-wide decision-making and improvement activity
  • Work directly with senior leaders and trustees
  • Help shape the future direction of a respected and growing organisation
  • Develop expertise across governance, quality assurance, compliance, strategy and organisational performance.
  • Build a broad and varied career within a role that offers genuine professional development.
  • Join an inspiring group of talented colleagues who bring creativity, passion and energy to everything they do.
  • Be part of an organisation committed not only to maintaining high standards, but continually redefining them.
