Job overview
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, motivated, and confident Service Manager for a medium secure unit at the Trevor Gibbens Unit in Maidstone. The Service Manager will oversee the management of the wards and the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service (FOLS). Collaborating with relevant teams, they will ensure excellent clinical, operational, and financial outcomes, working to facilitate seamless patient pathways and enhance service user engagement.
The role involves using data to support improved patient outcomes, coordinating initiatives for service improvement, and actively pursuing the best outcomes for patients and carers. The Service Manager will identify growth opportunities and support the General Manager in maximizing these, also deputising for the General Manager as needed.
Main duties of the job
The Service Manager will work closely with professional heads and the General Manager to ensure the quality of clinical services, including patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes meet high standards. Responsibilities include investigating serious incidents, handling complaints, staffing issues, staff appraisals, supervision, training, and ensuring compliance with mandatory reporting.
They will collaborate with Team Managers and other professionals to ensure effective care pathways with regular reviews, supporting the delivery of strategic and operational plans.
