Overview
Two challenging Assistant Psychologist posts to support patients moving from secure services to be reintegrated into the community. These posts are subject to a six-month probationary period for candidates external to the KMPT. To deliver an effective service, it is essential that you are able to travel between bases in a timely manner. We take pride in our services, which are underpinned by our values.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical, research and administrative support to the psychology staff in the FOLS team under their direct guidance and supervision, to assist in providing and monitoring the service provision within the Service Line.
- Take an active role in coordinating and conducting initial assessments and formulations under the supervision of a qualified clinician. Contribute to the development of risk formulations and treatment planning.
- Administer and score assessment instruments and other forms of assessment and compile reports.
- Co-facilitate structured groups such as anger management, social skills and problem solving.
- Take part in audit, quality improvement (Qi) and research.
- Support FOLS to provide tailored support to autistic clients.
- Provision of administrative support to the psychologist and psychotherapist, including literature searches for relevant articles and the collation of information for case conferences.
- The posts will be based in the FOLS team and are predominantly patient-facing.
- The post holders will work with highly emotive content and manage high levels of mental exertion for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
- Bring to bear clinical and data analysis skills, working to develop a role within the team to support service delivery for patients and evaluation of the services.
- Work closely with service users, ward staff/support staff, and the wider team in supporting the delivery of a comprehensive psychology service to our patients and evaluation of the services.
- Involve working with other agencies, including Community services and the Criminal Justice System.
- Coordinate a number of inter-related, time-consuming tasks within the time and resource demands of the service.
