Data Engineer looking for an opportunity to shape and enhance a growing enterprise data platform?
We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Data Services team, working with Microsoft technologies to design, develop and support scalable data solutions that drive better business decisions and improve customer outcomes.
Working closely with Architects, Senior Engineers and business stakeholders, you'll take ownership of solutions from concept through to implementation, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions while solving complex data challenges.
- What you'll be doing
- Design and deliver enterprise-scale data solutions using Microsoft technologies
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data integration pipelines
- Work directly with stakeholders to analyse, challenge and refine requirements
- Translate business needs into sustainable technical solutions
- Investigate and resolve complex data and integration issues
- Collaborate with Data Science, Digital and Core Systems teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer reviews and quality assurance activities
- Produce technical documentation and support materials
- Ensure solutions align with data governance, security and regulatory standards
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering practices, tooling and processes
What we're looking for
- 5+ years' experience in Data Engineering and Business Intelligence
- Strong experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
- Advanced SQL skills including T-SQL and DAX
- Experience building ETL and ELT data pipelines
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modelling and data architecture
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Experience working closely with business stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Nice to have
- Experience within Financial Services, Mortgages or another regulated environment
- Experience working with APIs, JSON and XML
- Python, C# or Power Shell knowledge
- Git, branching strategies and Dev Ops practices
- Infrastructure as Code experience including Bicep, YAML and CI/CD pipelines
- Microsoft or Azure Data certifications
