About The Role
We’re looking for an Advanced R&D Engineer to join our team and help drive innovation, quality, and continuous improvement across both Existing Product Development and Manufacturing Engineering. In this varied and hands-on role, you'll split your time roughly 50/50 between supporting live products and enhancing manufacturing processes - ideal for someone who enjoys practical engineering and solving real-world problems. You’ll play a key part in engineering changes, problem-solving, testing, investigations, and supporting the development of production equipment and tooling.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Existing Product Development - supporting product improvements and real-world performance
- Complete Engineering Change Instructions.
- Investigate and validate design changes through tests, experiments, and fault diagnosis.
- Support improvements to systems and processes.
- Lead quality investigations, collaborating with multiple department heads to resolve factory and in-field issues.
- Provide ad-hoc support to New Product Development projects.
- Provide support for bespoke factory equipment (final test, pressure test, leak tests).
- Assist in the productionisation of NPD projects, including designing/building jigs and fixtures and supporting trial builds.
- Contribute to manufacturing process development and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- Detail-oriented, organised, and quick to grasp new ideas.
- Skilled in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
- Experience working hands-on in a workshop environment.
- Experience designing or working with low-voltage electrical systems.
- Brazing and soldering skills.
This role suits someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, practical problem solving, and improving how things are designed and built.
