Join Kensa and help make heating better for everyone. At Kensa, we're making heating better - for people, for the planet and for the future. Since 1999, we've been leading the way in ground source heat pump technology, delivering affordable, low-carbon heating solutions that support the UK's transition to net zero. We're now looking for a Junior Project Engineer to join our design team and support the delivery of low-carbon heating projects in the new build sector.

The role:

  • As Junior Project Engineer, you'll play an important part in coordinating design and pre-construction information, supporting project delivery and helping ensure design outputs are accurate, consistent and delivered to schedule.
  • You'll work closely with experienced colleagues, building your understanding of ground source heat pump projects, technical drawings, engineering calculations and design processes as you develop in the role.
  • You'll be involved in project kick-off meetings, internal design discussions and external stakeholder meetings, while supporting the preparation of project documentation, engineering calculations, energy modelling, reports, risk assessments and design information.
  • You'll also help coordinate design information and requirements with new build partners, clients and internal colleagues so projects keep moving clearly and consistently.

This is a varied role where strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects will be key.

What you'll be doing:

  • Coordinating key pre-construction and design information
  • Supporting project kick-off meetings, internal design meetings and external stakeholder meetings
  • Carrying out energy modelling calculations and engineering calculations
  • Reviewing project documents, drawings and ground-source infrastructure plans
  • Preparing project summaries, reports, risk assessments and design documents
  • Supporting product selection and engineering document production
  • Coordinating design information with internal colleagues, partners and clients
  • Managing document control and distribution of project information
  • Supporting project programming, scheduling, forecasting, quotations, purchase orders and related project administration
  • Helping improve processes within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment

What we're looking for:

  • We're looking for someone organised, detail-focused and proactive, who enjoys working with technical information, coordinating multiple priorities and collaborating with internal teams, external partners and clients.
  • You'll need to be comfortable managing multiple tasks, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues and stakeholders to keep projects moving.

Skills and experience:

  • Some engineering knowledge, studies or background, such as a relevant degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, technical qualification or practical experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach
  • Strong Excel capability
  • Experience using AutoCAD or other technical drawing applications would be beneficial
  • A proactive approach to developing and improving processes

What we offer:

  • 25 days' annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year after 2 years' continuous service, up to a maximum of 30 days, plus bank holidays
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options where possible
  • Career development support, including training and support for recognised qualifications
  • Free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme for you and your immediate family
  • Private healthcare after one year of service
  • Community Impact: Paid volunteering days.
  • Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, helping you access a new EV in a tax-efficient way
  • Company pension scheme with employer contributions
  • A collaborative culture where your work directly supports the UK’s transition to greener, more affordable heating
