This is a pivotal position within the Group Finance team, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. The Transactional Finance Manager will take ownership of the group’s transactional finance function, overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cashflow management. You will lead a small team and play a key role in ensuring the finance function is scalable, efficient, and aligned with our client's growth strategy. This role offers the opportunity to drive process improvements, implement new technologies, and enhance automation across the function. The automation of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable is a big part of this role; you will be responsible for implementing new systems and processes to ensure our client moves from a manual way of working to an automated way of working.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum + benefits

Working Hours: 9am - 5pm

Location: North London (3 days in the office)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small transactional finance team
  • Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and cashflow processes
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of sales and purchase ledgers
  • Manage reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Optimise billing cycles and support automation of invoicing processes
  • Review and manage payment runs in line with business priorities
  • Maintain strong financial controls across all payment processes
  • Deliver accurate and insightful KPIs relating to payables, receivables, and cash
  • Support finance systems upgrades and automation initiatives
  • Drive improvements in working capital through effective debtor and creditor management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers (funders) and suppliers
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Property, and Operations

About You:

  • Experienced in transactional finance, with strong knowledge of AP, AR, and reconciliations
  • Previous experience managing or supervising a team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in a growing SME or transformation environment
  • Confident working with systems improvements, automation, and process optimisation
  • Interest in emerging technologies, including AI and finance automation tools
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business
