Kenneth Brian Associates are working on a new opportunity for a well-established M&E organisation, who are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who comes from a mechanical background within Estimating/Quantity Surveying or even Contracts/Project Management.
The role will include:
- Reviewing project plans, specifications and related documentation in order to understand scope of work and mechanical requirements
- Analysing engineering drawings, blueprints and other technical documentation in order to provide an accurate estimate
- Proposing an accurate and competitive estimate and budget which will include mechanical systems, labour, materials, equipment, permits and any other costs
- Performing take-offs and quantity surveys of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire protection systems
- Identifying potential risks and challenges and proposing effective solutions
- Evaluating bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers
Who we are looking for:
- Proven experience working within the mechanical and electrical industry
- In depth knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, piping and fire protection
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry best practices
Please note you will need to commute to Epsom on a daily basis.
